That time of year is coming up. The time we celebrate our fallen, Memorial Day. There are many companies that do not observe the federal holiday requiring the company to close for the day. They may offer their employees time and half for working the holiday. Any more than that can be called a blessing. Not too many companies are doing that. But, one thing you can bet on is that your child’s school will be closed.
On a day like this what can the whole family do? A great blessing is that the whole family is off from school and work. So what do you do? I know what I do, I relax. Lol. Seriously, I do relax some of the day. I like to find some non-expensive way to entertain my children for the day.
Here is my list of activities for the whole family:
1) The Local Park. The local park can be a way to get the kids involved in some physical activity for the day. You can also break out the BBQ utensils and grill up some hot dogs for the kids & burgers for the adults.
2) The Mall. The good old fashion mall. A free play area in most local malls is a great place to hang out with your little one. Especially if they are tiny bitty kids. Mom and dad can have some shopping time.
3) Remembering A Loved One. Never is it least. But, simply just next on the list. Remembering a loved one you had in your life that served our country is always a great way to spend the day. You can also use it as a history lesson to your young ones. Informing them on how great it was for them to give their life for our freedom.
4) A oldie but a goodie, a Movie Theatre. Holidays are a guaranteed time you will have a new movie coming out that you may want to see. Even for those like myself, don’t attend a movie on opening day can probably grab a ticket to the movie they want to see. Especially, if a new movie opens up on the holiday.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful time this holiday. Let me know which activity you decide to partake in. Even if it’s a different one than what I listed here.
Peace, Love & Knowledge.
