Today is not like yesterday. Growing up as a child there didn’t seem like their were different things to choose from. As I go day by day, looking around every corner there are restaurants of the same type of food, clothing stores fighting for your attention, and schools eager to market for your children to attend their school.
The thing that gets to me is we were never given the amount of choices, it’s almost overwhelming. As you go on, day by day, month by month, and year by year, you grow accustomed to having options to choose from.
What do you do when you feel like there are no options for you? Do you allow yourself to fall back into a phase of boredom? A lack of self drive? Allowing someone to dictate your life? Or, do you go out and see what your options are? Having a choice in how you and your family will live.
Well, that’s what is the motto of my family… Options. Why? Because it is a great way to ensure you are doing everything you can for yourself and your family. Options can mean different things to you and yours. For us, its to live life were we can dictate our own happiness.
Making the best decision in finding a middle school for our son. Branching out of our comfort zone, doing what we love to do. In which, for me is writing and helping others.
For you, it may be something totally different. That’s the exciting thing. Do having options scare you or excite your Inner core?
It used to scare me. What do I choose? Am I making the right decision? What if I fail? Wow… that’s the topper right there. Failure. No one’s best friend. I can finally say as I am a year older and wiser, failure is alright. We aren’t perfect. It’s good to make mistakes because we can learn from them and move on. Hopefully, with the failure comes realization and acceptance that we can get back up and do it again with better insight then we had prior to.
