You’re Simply the Best!

Simply the Best!! That’s right. I said it. You are simply the best! Why not treat yourself like you’re the best? I am a firm believer in treating yourself to something nice now and then. As long as it doesn’t hurt your pockets, why not? If it is going to break your pockets at that time, don’t do it. Instead, save up. Plan ahead for that special thing it is you want.

Treating yourself to something nice is supposed to bring you joy. As a mother, we tend to give our all to our children, husband, family and for some, even friends. It’s a blessing to be able to be a blessing to others. However, in doing so we can’t forget about ourselves. We have to find that special medium, that fine line, in doing for others and ourselves.

What should you do for yourself? Well, that’s a question you have to ask yourself. What is it that you have been wanting for a while? What is at the forefront of your mind when you thinks about doing something you want to do?

For me, it’s a very long list. However, I had the chance to act upon that very notion spontaneously a while back at the beginning of last month. Every month I get some kid free time by dropping them off at church for free babysitting. Now, I do understand that all churches do not provide this service if you are not going to service.

I am fortunate enough to have a place where I can do so on a Friday night. My husband and I always take this time to go grab a bit to eat out somewhere close so we can maximize our time out. Going out with a time limit of when you need to be back for your children can put a damper on the evening if you let it. We choose not to let that damper our kid free fun.

My favorite place to go is to the mall. Yes, I said the mall. Not the idea place to go out with your husband. But, for us it works. He loves to shop for himself just as much as I love to shop for myself. Also, I’m lucky enough to have a husband with great taste. He will always tell me the truth about my picks even if I don’t want to hear it. We’re still working on that one. Lol.

It was a rare occasion that I chose to purchase something for myself. I normally like to “window shop.” However, I needed to purchase some makeup that was better for my skin. Seeing a dermatologist recently help in noticing that I was allergic to the makeup I used to use. As I was searching for a better makeup product, someone told me about going to a Macy’s counter and letting the girls help me in finding the perfect one for me. As suggested, I told my husband I wanted to go to Macy’s and see how much and what they had to offer. I was told about two different types of natural makeup prior to my visit to this store.

A sales clerk notice me browsing the Tarte makeup counter and offered to help. I told her I was looking for a natural product that would work for sensitive dry skin and she knew exactly what I needed. She found the Tarte makeup line for me and offered to try it on me to see if I would like it. Well, needless to say I loved it!! It’s light weight, full coverage made me feel great. I purchased all that I needed and got some free samples which is always nice. I even had to go back because I remembered I need some new makeup brushes.

Ecstatic with joy, I could not wait to take a picture of what I just purchased and share it with the world. My world, on IG and Twitter. If you didn’t notice, the photo above is everything I received.

I am not receiving any money or free gifts from Macy’s or Tarte makeup for this article.

I just loved the product so much I had to share my excitement with you. That was how I treated myself to something great. I always give a shoulder to lean on, money, volunteering, and hard work to others, it was just time to do something for me. I am simply the best. Aren’t you? I think you are!

Here’s a list of products I tried & loved!
